The Snowdonia Society has an important job. By working to protect and enhance the natural environment of Eryri (Snowdonia), they play a vital role in safeguarding one of the UK’s most treasured landscapes.
The ReAgent Foundation is proud to partner with the Snowdonia Society. Our donation will support their conservation efforts to protect habitats, improve visitor experiences, and strengthen the region’s resilience to climate change.
Turning Funding into Environmental Action
The Snowdonia Society focuses on practical conservation that delivers a visible, lasting impact. The ReAgent Foundation’s donation supports several of their core initiatives.

Litter picking is a constant priority in a landscape so beloved by hikers, campers, and tourists. Volunteers and staff remove waste on an ongoing basis. This helps protect wildlife and maintain the natural beauty that draws visitors to the area.
Footpath maintenance will be a primary focus for the Society this summer. Clearing and maintaining trails encourages visitors to stick to designated paths. This reduces the risk of visitors trampling sensitive habitats and protects fragile ecosystems from disturbance.
Protecting Habitats Through Targeted Work
Invasive species pose a serious threat to biodiversity in the region. The Society works closely with organisations to tackle this challenge head-on.
An important part of their work involves clearing invasive conifers from wetland areas. Conifers absorb large quantities of water, drying out these vital habitats. Removing them helps restore natural water levels, allowing wetlands to recover and support a wider range of plant and animal life.
This type of targeted conservation provides long-term benefits. It strengthens ecosystems, improves biodiversity, and ensures natural processes can function as they should.
The Power of Partnerships and Volunteers
Collaboration is a significant part of the Snowdonia Society’s work. By working with partner organisations such as the Snowdonia National Park Authority, Wildlife Trusts, Woodland Trust, and the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB), the Society amplifies its impact and ensures its efforts align with wider environmental strategies.

Volunteers play an equally important role. They support projects ranging from litter picking to habitat restoration. Their involvement allows the Society to deliver work at a scale that would otherwise be impossible.
This community-driven model not only enhances conservation outcomes but also fosters a deeper connection between people and the environment. Volunteers get hands-on experience and a stronger understanding of the challenges facing Snowdonia.
A team from the ReAgent Foundation will be getting involved during our Snowdonia Society volunteer day on the 31st of July.
A Shared Commitment to Environmental Conservation
The Society’s conservation work forms part of a strategic plan to restore nature and combat climate change. Healthy ecosystems store carbon and support biodiversity. By protecting these systems, the Society contributes to long-term environmental resilience.
The ReAgent Foundation’s support strengthens this mission. It provides the resources needed to deliver meaningful action, ensuring that conservation efforts continue to grow.
“Eryri National Park needs protecting, now more than ever. Threats to our beautiful National Park include invasive species, trampling of upland habitats and habitat degradation, to name but a few. We work in partnership to tackle issues facing Eryri, and our volunteers play a key role in this. They enable much-needed conservation work to be carried out where it’s really needed, and we’re hugely grateful for their efforts. Our wholehearted thanks are given to the ReAgent Foundation for choosing to support our work with such a generous donation. It really will make a difference,” says Mary-Kate Jones, Programme Manager at the Snowdonia Society.
Creating Lasting Impact
The partnership between the ReAgent Foundation and the Snowdonia Society demonstrates how funding can drive tangible change. Every cleared footpath, restored wetland, and removed piece of litter contributes to a healthier, more resilient landscape.
By partnering with organisations like the Snowdonia Society, the ReAgent Foundation helps turn environmental ambition into practical action. The result is measurable progress towards nature conservation and a stronger foundation for tackling the challenges of climate change.
